Our History

InApp was founded in 2000 with offices in Palo Alto, California, and Trivandrum, India. The company was established with the goal of providing cutting-edge technology solutions to businesses and organizations worldwide. One of InApp's first clients was Sun Microsystems, a market leader specialized in computer technology.

Sun Microsystems was a pioneer in the computer industry, particularly known for its work in Unix-based systems and network computing. The company's products and technologies were widely adopted by businesses and organizations worldwide, making it a valuable early client for InApp.

InApp's unique presence in both Silicon Valley and India enabled us to leverage the strengths of each location and deliver a truly global service. This helped us build a strong reputation in the industry and attract a diverse range of clients.

In 2003, Richard Stallman, the founder of the Free Software Foundation and a pioneer in the free software movement, visited InApp. During his visit, he met the company's leaders and employees to discuss the importance of open-source software and its role in the technology industry.

The visit was a significant event for InApp as it helped raise awareness among the InApp team about the importance of open-source software and how it can be used to drive innovation and growth in the tech industry.

In 2004, InApp made a significant achievement by being certified at CMMI Level 3. This certification recognizes InApp’s mature, effective software development processes and is a testament to our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Being a company with fewer than 50 employees, achieving this level of certification was a remarkable feat, setting us apart from our competitors and proving that success is not limited by size. The CMMI Level 3 certification showcased our ability to deliver high-quality software solutions to clients and established us as a leader in the industry.

In 2006, InApp achieved a significant milestone in its journey as a technology company. The company received the coveted CMMI Level 5 certification, which recognizes organizations for their best practices in software development and engineering processes.

Being CMMI Level 5 certified placed us among an elite group of organizations in the industry and demonstrated our expertise in software development processes and commitment to delivering exceptional services. This achievement was a significant step in InApp's journey as a technology company and solidified our reputation as an industry leader.

The acquisition of Datec marked a key moment in our company's growth, enabling us to diversify our offerings and strengthen our market position. With the integration of Datec's expertise, we were able to enhance our ability to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.

We expanded our service to include Testing as a Service (TaaS) to meet the growing demand for comprehensive and reliable testing solutions. With a team of seasoned testers, we quickly established ourselves as a trusted provider in the industry, delivering high-quality results to help organizations achieve their software quality goals. 

Partnership with JBoss

In 2008, we entered a partnership with JBoss, a leading provider of open-source middleware solutions. This partnership marked a turning point in our company's history and opened up new growth opportunities.

In 2009, we expanded our services to include mobile app development. To support this new offering, we invested in extensive training in iOS, Android, and BlackBerry app development. This allowed us to bring in-depth expertise and experience to the rapidly growing mobile app market, quickly establishing ourselves as a leading provider of mobile app development services, offering custom solutions to businesses and organizations across industries.

Fast forward to today, and we are proud to say that we are one of the leading mobile app development companies in the market. Our commitment to innovation, combined with the skills and passion of our team, has allowed us to help our clients seize the opportunities presented by the mobile app revolution.

In 2010, we took a significant step towards our goal of global expansion by opening our first overseas office in Japan. This was a significant moment for us and marked the start of our journey to bring our services and expertise to a broader audience. That same year, we also hit an exciting milestone by crossing the 100-employee mark. This growth was driven by the demands of our new clients, who sought a trusted partner to help them succeed in an ever-evolving business landscape.

Looking back, it's clear that these key events in 2010 set the stage for our continued success in the years to come. We are proud of what we have accomplished and remain committed to providing our clients with the highest-quality services and support, regardless of their location.

The CSI InApp Student Awards were launched in 2011 in partnership with the CSI Trivandrum Chapter. This awards program empowers students to showcase excellence in software development. Since its inception, the program has seen massive growth, scaling from 2,400 participants in 2020 to over 3,200 in 2022. We are proud to continue this initiative alongside the CSI Trivandrum Chapter and Kerala Technological University to foster the next generation of tech talent.

InApp's QC Automation Tool was used in India's prestigious Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also known as Mangalyaan, in 2014. The use of our QC Automation Tool in the Mars Orbiter Mission was a major validation of our commitment to developing cutting-edge technology solutions that meet the needs of the most demanding applications. It was a proud moment for our company, and we were honored to be part of such an important and historic achievement.

In 2015, we reached a major milestone by expanding into a modern office at Technopark Phase 3, Trivandrum. This move was a reflection of our steady growth and commitment to innovation. Designed for collaboration, the new space allows our team to better serve our global clients while providing an inspiring environment for our employees to thrive.

In 2022, we took a significant step forward with the opening of new office space in Cochin Infopark, Phase 2. This expansion was driven by our growing team and the need for a modern and dynamic work environment to support our continued growth and success.

Team InApp

In 2025, InApp achieved a significant milestone: 25 years of serving clients. From fewer than 50 employees to a 400+ strong powerhouse, InApp’s journey has been an incredible roller-coaster ride. Though navigating intense competition, stringent technical standards, and shifting market dynamics was certainly not easy, our incredible people made it happen with their unwavering commitment and dedication.

Having grown into a top-notch software development service provider, InApp is looking forward to setting a new milestone in the industry by focusing on driving greater efficiency, reducing risks, and enabling scalability for clients.

InApp announces that it has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, valid from January 2, 2026, to January 1, 2029.

This globally recognized standard for information security management systems demonstrates InApp’s commitment to information security and maintaining the highest standards of data protection. It also reflects the company’s commitment to trust, strong governance, and operational discipline.

During the certification audits, auditors commended the team’s agility in addressing and resolving all Areas of Concern (AOCs) identified after Stage 1. They also noted clear improvements and effective teamwork in Stage 2.

This achievement reinforces InApp’s commitment to building secure, reliable, and trusted digital solutions for our clients worldwide.
