An Important Initiative Towards Restoring Nature

An Important Initiative Towards Restoring Nature

The recent Amazon fires were declared a global catastrophe owing to the fact that the rainforest produces more than 20% of the world’s oxygen content, essential for us to live. The Amazon’s destruction stressed the importance of protecting the trees and our constant negligence towards climate change. According to a recent study published in the journal “Science”, planting a trillion trees is one of the cheapest and fastest ways to reverse climate change.

As an initiative towards restoring nature, we spent our weekend planting trees around the Technopark premises. The activity was kickstarted by Team Echo, one of the 6 Fun@Work teams at InApp and witnessed an overwhelming response. On 31st of August, through the contribution and effort from our employees, we planted several indigenous trees in and around our office premises. We believe this would be one among the many small steps we take as an organization towards reducing our carbon footprint and restoring the environment.
