7th CSI-InApp Awards 2018 Winners Announced IoT Home Automation Project Tops List

April 30, 2018: Project Androl, an IoT based home automation system for energy management has been adjudged the best project in the 7th CSI-InApp National Student Project Awards 2018 competition. The system was developed by Aravinda Kumar R. C, from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It is an energy monitoring and control system which allows users to control the devices at home, monitor power consumption by devices and optimize home energy use through an Android app.

The consolation prize went to the project ‘OCR for Devanagari Script using TensorFlow Technology” from MIT College of Engineering, Pune, represented by Darshan Santosh Kawade, Vedang Vinay, & Neha Samson Kaunds.

The awards have been instituted to identify and recognize the best software projects designed and implemented by engineering students across India. This year the jury received 750+ submissions from 21 states across the country of which 19 projects were shortlisted to the grand finale. The final round of face to face presentation was held on 28 & 29 of April 2018 at the State Capital, Trivandrum. The results were declared after hours of evaluation.
